San Luis Obispo: Central Coast Hotline Call or Text Handler

Please submit an application  to volunteer@t-mha.org if you're interested in being contacted for the next Central Coast Hotline training, one of our signature volunteer positions! Call Handlers are trained to staff the County’s only 24-hour mental health support, information, crisis and suicide prevention line. Text Handlers assist with answering text messages Monday-Friday 10 AM - 2 PM and we hope to expand these hours soon! The 32-hour training involves professional development unmatched by traditional volunteer programs. Participants learn communication skills, gain knowledge of mental health topics, and receive training to be a resource specialist. You can learn more about our Hotline program by reading the volunteer call handler description here or the volunteer text handler description here.
