STAND UP FOR GROWING GROUNDS!

San Luis Obispo’s Board of Supervisors will be voting in June on the budget for the next fiscal year. The mandate is to reduce the budget, and the annual support for Growing Grounds Nursery ($280,000) has been recommended as a potential cut.

I wanted to express my support for the Growing Grounds Nursery operated by TMHA. Growing Grounds is a successful and important program that helps our community in so many ways. It not only assists 80 people living with a mental illness get back into the workforce each year, but it provides some of the most beautiful and environmentally sensitive plants for drought-tolerant landscaping. As someone living in your district, I ask that you please vote to keep Growing Grounds in this year’s budget.
