Central Coast Hotline Texting Terms and Conditions

USE OF THIS SERVICE IS BOUND BY THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. Please read the following statement before using this service. By using Central Coast Hotline SMS Texting, you agree to the terms described below.

There is no charge for using this hotline. Any texts sent to the Hotline will be stored for at least 7 years. You may choose to be anonymous and/or withhold information, however if you do so this may impair our ability to provide necessary referrals in urgent situations.

Minors under the age of 12 are not allowed to text the Hotline, and that by texting the Hotline, the texter represents that the texter is at least 12 years of age. Minors under 12 may call the Hotline by phone.

Hotline Crisis Line Specialists are paraprofessionals trained in suicide crisis response, and are resource specialists but are not licensed mental health providers.

Hotline will treat all text communication as confidential except as noted below, and the Hotline will take reasonable steps to protect any texts or associated records from inadvertent release.

·      Hotline may release information from texts to emergency personnel if, in its discretion, it determines that release is necessary to prevent serious harm to the texter or other parties identified by the texter.

·      In addition, that Hotline will release records if compelled to do so by subpoena, search warrant, court order, or by specific statute.
